Purpose
The Preparatory Council of the 1996 North American Taiwan Studies Conference aims to promote Taiwan studies in general and to enhance interaction between the academia of Taiwan and the North America. We especially encourage the participation of graduate students and young scholars concerning and conducting Taiwan studies.

Subject | Any subject related to Taiwan studies. Papers on the following subjects are of particular needs:

Paper Style | Manuscripts must be typed (in English or Chinese), double spaced, and include an abstract of no more than 150 words. In general, the Conference considers papers up to 30 pages in length. Manuscripts should be prepared following ordinary academic formats. |
Selection of Paper | Papers are reviewed by experts from the appropriate field. In general, we place emphasis on the contribution of the paper on the related fields of Taiwan study. |
Deadline | April 20: submitting the abstract to natsc@taiwanese.com May 5: three copies of the paper and a disk containing the article in Word or Ascii format |
